Team K - VERY NICE (아주 NICE) Review
Hello! Welcome back to my reviews on Boys Planet's stage performances! :)
This time we'll be taking a look at Team K's performance of VERY NICE. You can watch their performance here: Team K - VERY NICE
Let's get started!
----
First off, Woongki's lip sync with the backing track was perfect! I'm pretty sure he was cued in by the ear piece, but I think it's still quite impressive to match up perfectly with the backing track.
And Seungeon's energetic introduction vocal was such a great start to the song! They definitely picked the perfect person in their group for the main vocal part. Seungeon is known for his effortless high and clean notes, it's super impressive! The dancing here is also very funky and fun. It's pretty crazy how they all hopped and landed at the same time which made it super satisfying to watch.
Unfortunately, Seungeon is immediately followed by Mun Jung Hyun's cracking voice. I'm not sure if his throat was just not in top condition or if he couldn't reach the notes, or even possibly both, but I feel like Mun Jung Hyun's cracking voice played a large factor in leaving a sour impact on the audience. It's quite sad because Mun Jung Hyun is actually quite talented; if I remember correctly, I think Mun Jung Hyun more of a rapper than a singer so it would make sense that his singing is not as honed as his rapping. He played it off like his voice wasn't cracking at all, so I think he deserves some credit for not shying away from that.
At 0:27 is when Seo Won comes in and sings his part. I think he did a good job, but it's nothing too impressive, in my opinion. It was just good. Seungeon follows Seo Won with his clean yet powerful vocals. It was a really clean transition between the two singers!
The part where Woongki comes in at 0:41 is kind of a hard part to judge. He starts off perfectly with strong and stable vocals, but then as he switches to a falsetto, it sounds a little unstable and his breath through the mic gets in the way of his voice. I think he still did a good job at this part, but his breath hitting the mic makes it hard to tell and kind of makes it sound like he's not hitting the right notes (but I think he is).
I really like the camera work and stage right after Woongki's part! The scene switches from Woongki to Mingyu right before the chorus, so we see Mingyu raising his arm in the air and quickly dropping both his hips and putting his hand to his head at the "아주 (Aju) NICE!" part. The camera then zooms out so that we can see everyone, dancing in sync, and the stage background changes from a black screen to a brightly colorful, vivid, and fun background. I'm really loving the fun theme and vibe of this performance and they're delivering those vibes very well!
Now we move onto the rap part of this song. I think the rapping was done very nicely! There's not much to say because I thought it was flawless and the flow of every syllable was perfectly done. The rappers did great. The way everyone slide to the floor in sync was crazy though! I don't get how they can fall so gracefully and get up like nothing just happened, haha. That was so cool.
Moving onto Seo Won and Woongki's parts, I thought they did just fine here too! They were also very cute when they jumped out of the way for Mun Jung Hyun's part afterwards.
Now Mun Jung Hyun's voice starts cracking again... It's very unfortunate, but he nailed most of it this time! The voice crack gets in the way of everything else he sang though, making it sound not good. I'm still rooting for him though! He just wasn't too good in this performance.
Afterwards, Seungeon comes in for a short part. He's flawless as always! I really like his little flair when he sings: "보인다면(boindamyeon)", it's like a little wavy flair that makes it sound funny but nice at the same time.
We've come to my favorite part! I love Seungeon's voice, and this part of the song really lets his voice shine! We can't let Mun Jung Hyun's little part go unseen either though. This time, Mun Jung Hyun hit the head voice perfectly, allowing Seungeon to show off his incredibly powerful, stable, and clear voice. Both of them did such a great job. Those notes were very high, so I'm super surprised at how well they were able to pull that off.
I think the performance really started to pull itself together right after Seungeon's high note. Everything flowed smoothly and looked quite refined. It was like Seungeon's high note was the magic they needed to bring the best out of them. I also have to mention that Seo Won's finger hearts at 2:03 were really cute, haha. It's important to note that a k-pop idol must not only be good at singing and dancing, but also be able to have great expressions in order to convey feelings. In this case, they want to convey the feelings happiness and Seo Won definitely did with his finger hearts. Mingyu's little chants are also really cute and fun. Woongki's cute hearts and facial expressions at the end were very well done too!

We've reached the end of both VERY NICE performances! Both teams did very well and I enjoyed both of them. Seungeon from Team K and Cong from Team G, both having the main vocal role, were the best performers of both performances in my opinion. Both of them had great vocals and even did great at dancing. However, I enjoyed Team K's performance a bit more than Team G's and I think they also did a little better at performing too.
A small spoiler: Team K was victorious, so I'm guessing that most people had the same thoughts as I did. Team G still did very good though!

Since we've watched both VERY NICE performances, the next one I'll be going to look at is Team K and Team G's performances of Kill This Love by BLACKPINK.
(Spoiler alert, I love the Kill This Love performances😉 I hope you like them too! I won't say which one I like more though until the next blog comes out... hehehe...)
Thank you for reading and have a great day! I hope Boys Planet gives you as much grief and happiness as it did for me!
