Team G - LOVE ME RIGHT Review

Hi! This is going to be my last review for the blog. This one is on LOVE ME RIGHT by EXO, performed by Team G! Slight spoiler alert- while this performance has a few mistakes, it's still one of my favorite performances from this show. I decided to have LOVE ME RIGHT as my last blog because it's one of my favorites. One of my favorite trainees, Jay, is also in this performance so maybe that's why I like it so much. 😆 Jay is a very strong vocalist and his visuals are also really great! He was definitely one of my top picks for Boys Planet. And in case you didn't know, Jay is from the United States (New Jersey)!!! Somehow I feel a deeper connection with him just because he's from the United States, haha. Anyway, let's get into it! You can watch the performance here:  LOVE ME RIGHT - Team G ---- First of all, I've never heard LOVE ME RIGHT before so I didn't know what to expect from this performance. Right from the beginning, it sounds hip hoppy and bouncy,...

Team K - Kill This Love Review

Hello, today's Boys Planet performance review is on Team K's Kill This Love. This performance has one of my favorite trainees, Park Gunwook! He's a really great all-rounder (meaning he's skilled in singing, dancing and rapping) so even though this isn't his best performance on the show in my opinion, I think he still did great. He's the center, or killing part, of this performance. You can usually tell who has the killing part by looking at their clothes-- the person with the killing part often has an outfit that stands out from the rest. In this case, while all the others have something like a dress shirt on, Gunwook is wearing something that looks more like atheleisure. Here's the link to the performance:  Team K - Kill This Love No more stalling-- let's begin! ----      First off, I want to nitpick at something... I really don't like the blue theme or the outfits. 😂 Team G tends to have performances with a red/pink theme while Team K tends t...

Team G - Kill This Love Review

Hello! Today we're going to be reviewing one of my favorite performances from the hit Korean show: Boys Planet! This performance captured the hearts of many watchers including myself, so I hope you enjoy this one too if you haven't seen it yet. Something that makes this performance very important is that Kill This Love is originally made for a girl group, as the original is by BLACKPINK, an all-girls group. That makes Kill This Love a difficult song for males to cover as the original range doesn't usually suit their lower range of voice. Let's just get into it now! You can watch the performance here:  Team G - Kill This Love ---- First off, the beginning is very cool! I do think the "Yeah yeah yeah" could sound a little more powerful, but I'm not sure how so I think it's fine. I think the choreography could have looked a little more snappier and cleaner as well for a stronger beginning, but in general, it's not a bad start. Zhang Hao's opening...

Team K - VERY NICE (아주 NICE) Review

Hello! Welcome back to my reviews on Boys Planet's stage performances! :) This time we'll be taking a look at Team K's performance of VERY NICE. You can watch their performance here:  Team K - VERY NICE Let's get started! ---- First off, Woongki's lip sync with the backing track was perfect! I'm pretty sure he was cued in by the ear piece, but I think it's still quite impressive to match up perfectly with the backing track. And Seungeon's energetic introduction vocal was such a great start to the song! They definitely picked the perfect person in their group for the main vocal part. Seungeon is known for his effortless high and clean notes, it's super impressive! The dancing here is also very funky and fun. It's pretty crazy how they all hopped and landed at the same time which made it super satisfying to watch. Unfortunately, Seungeon is immediately followed by Mun Jung Hyun's cracking voice. I'm not sure if his throat was just not in t...

Team G - VERY NICE (아주 NICE) Review

Hi! Welcome to my Boys Planet performance reviews! Just in case you don't know what Boys Planet is, here's a quick summary: Boys Planet is a Korean idol survival show where 98 male k-pop idol trainees are put into groups and have to compete against each other through performances. Throughout the show, the trainess have to show off to the watchers and gain their votes in order to not be eliminated. In the end, the top 9 most voted trainees are able to debut as a group. At the beginning, there are 2 groups: Team K and Team G. Team K only has members who are of Korean ethnicity and live in South Korea, while Team G has members who are from other countries such as China, America, Japan, and more. The first performance I'm going to be reviewing is the Very Nice (아주 NICE) performance by Team G. ---- First, I'll start off with Team G's performance of VERY NICE by SEVENTEEN. You can watch it here:  Team G - VERY NICE      My roommate said that it doesn't have a very str...
